Living in Spain

TESOL Certification Course in Spain

In Spain teachers will be treated as any other professional. You need a work visa to teach legally.

They can post their resume and cvs on the internet and find long term contractual employment in Spanish schools.

They can also take up short term summer camp job of teaching English to Spanish children. It’s very popular summer engagement and the pay is quite good between 900 € - 2000 € per month.

Teachers are expected to be punctual and sincere in their work. They must respect the Spanish culture and heritage. They should participate in all school activities.

Living conditions
Spain is not as expensive as some of the other European nations. It is possible in Spain to live comfortably within the wages one earns as an English teacher. Spanish are a proud race and they are passionate about their life style and culture. Teachers must respect the conservative dress code practiced in the smaller towns and in Spanish countryside and dress accordingly. A Spanish phrase book is very handy to find one’s way about the place.

In the densely populated areas of big cities like Barcelona, Seville one should be careful of pickpockets, safer to strap the wallet with a chain close to the chest.

It is a picturesque country and one can take a closer look at life on the Iberian Peninsula if working in the country as a teacher. It is a great way to understand a country and its people and broaden ones perspective.

In the big cities of Spain like Seville, Granada and Barcelona one can find all modern day comforts and at the same time imbibe the diverse history of the land.

What to expect:
Teachers in Asia are better paid than in Europe but in Spain living conditions being comparatively less expensive one can have a comfortable stay and save money. One may use the internet to locate jobs but you may not find it easy on your own. Teachers trained by TEFL International are fortunate as they can expect total job assistance.

Entertainments:
Spain is the land of sun, passion and fun filled nights. It can satiate all types of tourists. From people who love history to the bar hopping back packers to art lovers and creative dancers or just holiday makers.

One can spend hours roaming the ruins of erstwhile Roman Empire or the mysterious corridors and sprawling courtyards of the Moorish citadels and monuments, or stare wide eyed at the awesome Gothic churches.

It has great walks lined with pubs and tapas bars where one can sip a beer and just watch passersby. Te great museums are a must see just as the art galleries and Gothic churches.

The beaches are a great place to hang out. One can do windsurfing, para sailing and other water sports.

In winter one can go skiing in the mountains. A whole lot of adventure is possible while teaching English in Spain.
