Living in Argentina

TEFL Certification Course in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Argentina is a land of paradox – it broke free from Spanish shackles way back in the 19th century but culturally has retained its European (read) Spanish and Italian roots. It is a nation where the society is sustained by a super efficient system of “Home delivery”, yet the general populace eats home cooked food at least four times a week.

Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires rivals other capitals of the most advanced nations in sophistication and infrastructure; and yet you find locals walking down the streets clutching their famed wooden mugs brimming with “Yerba Mate” and a metal straw to sip the national beverage.

It is a city with opportunities for the diligent and the go-getter. It is at the same time the city of pleasure seekers and party lovers. Its motley of entertainment, food and wine can titillate even the most jaded palate.

The city is definitely not cheap but a job as a TEFL teacher can help you to participate in the excitements of the metropolis without having to dig too deep into your pockets.

What to expect:
The Argentineans are essentially hospitable and love to party. There is a sense of bonhomie and one can never find life monotonous here.

All modern amenities and comforts are available in Argentina mainly in the cities and big towns. Living is comfortable and if one is a sensible spender it is possible to explore the country with too much of a pocket pinch.

The cuisine is delicious and nutritious so eating the local dishes is a great way to save money for travel.

Entertainments:
In Argentina there is much to see and explore from the Andes Mountains to the Atlantic coastline. The peaceful and the fertile Pampas where cattle are bred and the best wheat grown; reveal another side of a nation that is usually equated with fun frolic and party. One can go skiing in the Andes and surfing at the beaches.

In the capital you have European styled boulevards, parks and gardens cathedrals and churches that attract tourists all year round.

You should make a trip to the famous Iguazu falls which falls from a height greater than Niagara, a breath taking sight.

If you wish to enjoy peace and drink from pristine glaciers and capture in camera rare wildlife – Patagonia is the place for you. It rejuvenates the soul.

Medoza is where you should go if you love your food and wine, it is up in the Andes and also the place for outdoor mountain sports.

The Atlantic coastline of Argentina has many beautiful cities and towns Mar del Plata, Carilo, Villa Gesell, Pinamar and more. It is ideal for sun bathing, surfing and lolling about.

Argentina is host to some of the world’s best eateries where one can experiment with various types of cuisines including aphrodisiacs. The ESL job in Argentina will allow you to truly absorb the culture, cuisine and the life style of the Argentineans.

Weather
Argentina’s climate is very different in the north and the south of the country. North is hot and sultry and South is cold with frequent rainfall.

The temperature rarely goes below 33 degree Celsius in northern Argentina during summer and never below 5 degree Celsius in winter.

In southern part at Tierra del Fuego, it is always cold and almost freezing.

If you wish to enjoy the beach visit between December-March and for skiing the time is July-October.
